Catholic Diocese of Kitui to hold a requiem mass for the 10 pupils on Thursday

The catholic diocese of Kitui will on Thursday hold a joint requiem mass for the 10 pupils of St.Gabriel boarding school who died in a road accident involving a school bus and a lorry on Saturday night.
In a statement issued by Vica General1 in Kitui diocese Reverend Father Joseph Mwongela, the Catholic Church has been greatly hit by the accident and will be holding a requiem mass on Thursday at St. Josephs junior Seminary in Mwingi for the 10 pupils.
The Catholic Church is also raising a budget of sh1 million they have set to fund the send off of the pupils.
Mwongela said that many government dignitaries including ministry of education officials, as well as the archbishop of Nyeri who is also the apostolic administrator of Kitui county Bishop Anthony Muheria would be expected to attend the mass.
Others present during the media briefing were Kitui deputy Governor Wathe Nzau, BoM chairman Christopher Nzili and Eastern region director of education Margaret Lesunda who was representing the national government.
