Postmortem of bodies of 9 pupils who died in fatal road accident 3 kilometers away from mwingi has taken place at Mwingi level IV hospital led by kitui based government pathologist Lilian Bosire.
The bereaved families arrived as early as early as 6:00 am to witness the process where two families have requested to transfer the bodies of their loved ones to funeral homes near their home, Embu and Nakuru.
Postmortem to the remaining body the will be conducted in Nairobi where the body is.
According to mwingi medical superintendent Dr Evans mumo, the postmortem was necessary for purposes of keeping record of possible actual causes of death for each of the 9 pupils.
Mumo said that the county government of kitui and the national government through the ministry of education will cater for the medical bills.
He added that the four pupils who are admitted in the hospital are recuperating well and might be discharged anytime.
St Gabriel school board chair Christopher Nzili has said that the requiem mass that is scheduled for Thursday will take place at st Joseph minor seminary in Mwingi and many guests and dignitaries are expected.
