Woman who went missing drowns in Mwala

Body of a sixty year old woman was on Wednesday retrieved from River athi in Kwanganga area, Mwala sub county of Machakos county.

The woman identified as Lucia Kavuu went missing on Saturday last week where her family members have been searching for her fruitlessly.

The incident was confirmed by Kibauni location chief Sebastian Ngungi who said that the woman had been suffering from dementia.

It was reported that the woman went missing on Saturday,her family has been looking for her tirelessly until today when her body was discovered”, Said Ngungi.

Her floating body was discovered by residents who recognised her and raised an alarm.

He said that she left home on Saturday where she had been left alone and went away, she wasn’t seen since then.

The chief observed that it’s likely she had drowned.

He urged residents to take great care of their aged kins suffering from dementia to avoid such cases.

Don’t leave your elederly kins unattended and more so if they have memory problems so that we won’t witness an incidence like this“, Said Ngungi.

Masii police picked the body and took it to Machakos level five hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting postmoterm.
