Mwingi central MCA Mary Philip has urged residents especially women in her ward to be very careful with the men they go out with.
The Mca was speaking at Mwingi town where a body of a woman was found dead in a guest house on Wednesday night.
“Try to know whoever you go out with and remember not all men mean good to women. You cannot follow up anybody just because they show interest in you some are thieves and others are murderers,” cautioned Mary.
She called upon NEMA officials to ensure that all clubs minimise noise since some use high volumes in their dance floors such that even if somebody screams at the top of their voices for help nobody can rescue them because they cannot be heard.
Mary said she is sure before the woman was killed she must have called for help but there was no rescue at all.
She called upon the County to make sure there are street lights everywhere to minimise cases of insecurity especially in Mavoko area where we have about 3, 000 residents.
“The guest house owners should also make sure they get all the details of their customers even if they know them at personal level. I’m sure if they do that it will be easier to trace anyone who breaks any law,” she added.
The Mca called upon policemen to beef up security for last week one Mpesa was robbed and many other cases of insecurity.
Lastly, she called upon the locals to be calling for counseling instead of taking their own lives away adding that of late there are two cases of people who committed suicide within the town.
