Kisii set to host inter-county sports turf

KITUI : The County Government of Kitui has sent it’s comprehensive team comprising 90 County staff to Kisii County for the Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association, KICOSCA expected to kick off early Monday 13th August and set to continue till Friday.The County Team is drawn from the administration’s different departments with the best qualified players fit to scoop awards and rise high the County Flag.

The county team shall face other county teams in the expected stiff competition for the set awards to the best performing county team.KICOSA brings together all the staff drawn from the 47 Kenyan devolved units.Best performing teams and individual players scoop awards after finalisation of the tough event.

Kitui’s teams have qualified for participation in badminton, table tennis, pool table, Scrabble, football for men and volleyball both men and women.This is the first time Kitui County shall be participating KICOSA competition since the advent of devolved governance back in 2013.

The CECM Sports, Tourism and Culture Patrick Musau flagged the County Team on behalf of the county head Governor Charity Ngilu on Sunday 12 th August for their journey to Kisii County.The CECM urged the team to fly the county flag high the tournament and return home with silverware.

“We are competing to win and we ate hopeful yiu will bring back the coveted winners award, ” Hon. Musau to the County team.

Being it’s first entry into the tournament, the County team is expected to shine throughout and emerge victorious upon the tournament’s completion on Friday.
