We want leaders not people’s girlfriends in parliament, Nguna


Mwingi West Member of National Assembly, Charles Ngusya and has backed the most hyped two-thirds gender rule.

The rule sets to pave way for additional 21 nominated women Mps other than the current 12.
In order to amend Article 97 of the constitution, 233/349 legislators  are required to second the rule where the voting will take place next week on Wednesday.
Mp Nguna has however warned that they do not need people’s girlfriends in parliament but women who will be beneficial to Kenyan citizens.
‘ we need to nominate women who will be great leaders and those disabled should also be put in the fore front,’ the Mp further noted.
If this heated debate that kicked off on Tuesday sails through and H. E Uhuru Kenyatta assets to it, it will be effective after 2022 general elections.
