Kitui leaders draft the rapid County Action Plan geared to curb Terrorism.

Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau has lauded the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), USaid Kenya, Kenya ni wajibu wetu and Malaika Foundation for confining a sensitisation workshop on National strategy for countering Violent extremism in Kitui County.

Dr Wathe was speaking today at a workshop where the Malaika Foundation’s technocrats led the process of developing the Kitui County Action Plan to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism .

The Director Mr Njenga Miiri of National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC)is leading the visiting team while the County Commissioner is represented by Mr Kimolo the DCC Mwingi West.

The forum was also attended by Kitui County Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon Emeritus Kasee (MCA Kisasi Ward) representing the Speaker, accompanied by Hon David Thuvi the Assembly chairperson in implementation Committee/MCA Kwamutonga-Kithumula Ward and Hon Jehoshaphat Nzamba Chairperson finance and economic Planning committee/MCA Mulango Ward.

Others present were the CECM for Education, ICT and Youth Development David Kivoto,  Kitui County Police Commander Lydia Ligami and Kitui County DCCs, among other leaders.
