Ngilu meets Professionals over Key County Project ahead of Commissioning



Governor Charity Ngilu yesterday held a consultative meeting with Nairobi based Lower Yatta professionals.

The professionals were briefed on the ongoing development programs that revolve around the governor’s five pillars of Food and water, Health care, Education and Youth development, women empowerment and wealth creation.

The professionals who engaged the governor expressed their satisfaction and support for the projects that aim at uplifting the life of the people of Kitui.

Deliberations on the county ballast crusher erected at Kwa Kilui in Kitui Rural took the centre stage of discussions at the meeting.

The crusher with a capacity of producing 120 tonnes of ballast per hour has already been installed, tested and is ready for commissioning.

The professionals engaged the Governor on matters development and the ballast crusher that is key for opening up business in their area.

She said the residents of Lower Yatta will be the chief beneficiaries of the project calling on them to support her development agenda for the county.

“The project comes in a time when Thwake Dam construction is ongoing and will require 23 Million metric tonnes of ballast that we should supply” said Ngilu.

The Governor said the crusher will open up the area for investments through job creation and increased economic activities in the area.

The professionals endorsed the project as a good initiative that will boost the areas growth and benefit the county at large.

They said they’d attend the meeting slated later in the week at the site to conclude discussions on the income generating project.
