Kanyangi MCA writes to NEMA over dust caused by Chinese Contractor


Kanyangi MCA Hon. Andrew Lusaka has taken a step to save the residents from the huge blanket of dust along Kalulini-Kavisuni-Kavoo that’s under construction.

He says the clouds of dust at the construction site to have exposed the families living along the road to health threats.

The ward legislator laments huge clouds of dust and road damage caused by Chinese trucks ferrying ballast to the construction site.Lusa has already written to NEMA issuing 7 day ultimatum.

Among the affected schools are Kalulini, Kavoo and Mandongoi, and the nearby markets Kalulini, Itithini, Makutano, Syomunyo Kwa Chief, Wang’ata, Kavoo and Mandongoi.

He has further notified NEMA about the local community request to have the roads murramed properly, watered frequently and bumps to be constructed near schools and market centres to reduce accidents.

The area business community has signalled to stage a two day peaceful demonstration if the contractor will not have met their demands.
