In the wake of Wednesday, a pillar of fear engulfed the residents of Kimutwa in Machakos Sub-County after a retired police officer was found killed in his home.It was reported that unknown group of assailants attacked Matolo Mwasya at his home where he has been living alone leaving him dead.
Confirming the incidence, Machakos Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Tenei
said that the former officer was killed by unknown people.He added that that the deceased sustained deep cut wounds on his head.”He had deep cut wounds on the head and his mouth had an injury too” the police boss added.
According to Tenei, the ex-police officer was living alone at the period of his death and has since been selling milk to the area residents.
“We were informed this morning that one Matolo Mwasya was killed in his home, it’s not clear at what time. His body was found by locals who had gone to buy milk from his home,” he said.
According to the police, it appears that the deceased knew his attackers as they did not break into his house or steal anything from him.
Mr Tenei assured the locals that no stone will be left unturned until the perpetrators of the crime are put behind bars.
He, however, called upon the residents to cooperate with the police to provide information that might help in investigations to this incidence.
The body was moved to Machakos Level Five hospital awaiting postmortem.
