Governor Charity Ngilu has reaffirmed her unequivocal support for the Building Bridges initiative.
This comes hours after a caucus of women leaders,which she’s a member, supporting the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga dubbed Embrace presented their recommendations to the BBI committee.
“Top seats have always gone to men. We propose it be compulsory for a candidate to have a running mate of the opposite sex.” She said.
The Embrace Kenya Team presented their eight-point proposal today to the Yussuf Haji led BBI Committee in the meeting held at KICC in Nairobi today.
Her proposal was echoed by leaders among them Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna heaped praises to the Governor saying she’s a role model.
“Madam Governor, You are my role model, and I will tell you that KICOTEC is a success, KCHIC is helping many families which I sponsored by paying their subscription to the health insurance cover” he said
“I assure you my support in delivering to the people of Kitui, don’t pay attention to the politics in the county, i urge that you dismiss them and focus on service delivery to the people” he added.
The two leaders were speaking at a fundraiser today to foot the medical expenses of Jane Ndunge Kimweli daughter of Chief Kasina.
