Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu today said the county development agenda was alive and dismissed political naysayers as enemies of development.
Speaking at the Kitui County Textile Centre yesterday during the handing over of the first batch of the chiefs’ uniforms, Governor Ngilu said her administration is focussed on growing the county’s economy and realizing an all round development.
“My focus remains on developing the county, I will not spend much time responding to baseless criticism”. Ngilu said.
The Governor said the county was keen to enhance cooperation with the National Government to improve the livelihoods of the county residents.
Noting the county had achieved several milestones in among others health, water, youth development and manufacturing, Ngilu said the county will continue initiating development projects to fully realize an economically stable county.
“We must realize that development is an agenda for all of us. Leaders must show what they’ve done for the people before politicking”. She said.
Kitui County Commisioner John Ondego called on leaders to unite in the push to exploit the county’s potential.
“Without mincing words, you’ve done a good job”. He said.
The Critical Infrastructure Police Unit Commandant Musa Kakawa lauded the county for making manufacturing a reality in the county.
