Reprieve for MURI Farm residents as they finally receive title deeds


On Tuesday, 27th August, 2019 marks culmination of a long journey that began in 1933 for the people of Muri Farm, Masinga constituency.


MURI, is a community that has suffered for long without knowing their fate as landowners due to lack of title deeds .

The Muri community has suffered series of violence fanned by selfish land grabbers and politicians whose aim was to grab and benefit from this prime parcels of land.

Today, thanks to many endless meetings between the Muri farm residents, the able team from Agricultural Finance Corporation led by Hon. Franklin Bett, my government, and a waiver for planning and survey charge of 6 million from my government, the residents now go home with title deeds for their land” Governor Mutua said.


Finally this community has a sense of belonging, without fear of eviction notices or disputes among themselves.

All the selfish politicians who kept using the Muri farm to fan tribal disputes have been put to shame by County Government of Machakos in collaboration with National Government.


Mutua added “When we fight the vice of corruption and elect progressive minded leaders, we will be able to make great strides for our people.”
