Kitui County Boss, H. E Governor Ngilu over the weekend tasked DP Ruto to explain why he was very protective of the constitution he once strongly opposed in 2010.
Ngilu castigated Deputy President William Ruto over what she has since termed as always being opposed to change.
Led by Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, the leaders singled out the referendum that gave birth to the 2010 constitution which Ruto was greatly against.
Governor Ngilu wants the Deputy President to explain what has changed in current constitution for him to be protective of what he had once dismissed.
While addressing residents at Tononoka Grounds during Embrace tour (Mombasa Edition), Ngilu tasked the DP with explaining what had changed with the constitution to an extent that he was very protective of it and opposed to any proposed amendments.
Before the August 2010 referendum, Ruto served as the then Eldoret North MP and also doubled up as the Minister for Agriculture.
Ruto poked holes in formation of devolved units (County Governments) arguing that county governments will not play any role in enabling citizens have a say in national decision making.
