Kyuso Level IV hospital closed indefinitely over insecurity.

Kyuso level IV Hospital in Kyuso sub-county Mwingi North Constituency has been closed indefinitely owing concerns associated with impending unrest and insecurity at the hospital.

Kitui County ministry of health has decided to close the hospital indefinitely pending investigations by law enforcement agencies and to ensure safety of all employees working there.


Speaking to press the Chief Officer Ministry of Health Dr.Richard Muthoka said that there are unknown people who have been circulating leaflets that contain threats to staff.

The leaflets have message that the staff should vacate the hospital in 3 days time.

We have reported the matter to the police in Kyuso so that they can take action on whoever circulated the leaflets”,added Dr.Muthoka.

County employees, and those supported by implementing partners, as well as all those are working on locum basis, have thus been released on special leave, to resume duties only upon communication of the same.

Also the current contracts of all subordinate staff have been terminated until further notice.
