Kitui south legislator, Hon Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai has blamed Mutomo sub-county security team for the ongoing killings in mutha ward, Kitui South.
Kaki said so far police had not done a major crack down on the Somali Bandits threatening to Mutha residents.
“We want a full crack down and flush out of these people and not side show of one or two arrests,” Kaki said
“Police officers instead of arresting the killers, they are harassing kambas who are fleeing they homes over the insecurity. If these people cannot defend us, let them go back to where they came from. We cannot tolerate insecurity any more,” she added
The mp revealed that the herders have manyattas in the bush as hiding place which they are taking as an advantage to invade and attack mutha residents.
She asked kitui County Commissioner John Ondego and Mutomo Deputy Commissioner Ronald Enyakasi to immediately intervene saying that insecurity had seriously deteriorated.
In May 2019, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai warned that the Somali herders were part of the Alshabaab and that they had established training grounds in the area
