More than 200 families have fled their homes in Mutha ward (Kitui South )and Voo/ kyamatu ward (Kitui East )due to the Somali bandits attacks. The affected families in Imuumba yesterday benefited from relief food donated by a Kitui youth based group of well wishers.
It was a happy day for Voo/kyamatu ward and Mutha ward recently displaced residents as one dr.Mercy Nduku Kivali and her crew paid them a surprise visit at Imuumba primary school, where they have been camping recently due to the animosity that has been experienced between the Kamba and the somali camel herders.
In company of her father , area mca , Hon Kivali Musyoka , her friends and Bishop Duckie Mutia , Mercy represented a team that supported her overwhelmingly in this mission…
Each of the families received foodstuffs such as maize flour, vegetables , cooking oil, milk as well as sanitary towels for women and adolescent girls, bathing soaps, clothes among other goodies.
For sure, the unselfish act of bringing happiness to others is the beginning of a happy life.
Moreover, the people appreciate the efforts being made by Kitui East MP, Hon . Nimrod Mbai and his Kitui South counterpart in getting a long -term solution to this problem and they are hopeful all will be well.
