Kyome-Thana ward rep, Alex Wambua has finally implemented words he uttered December last year.

Wambua stated that the assembly will perfectly perform its duties without hindrance from anything in a bid to clean corruption menace especially in the ministry of Lands, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development under the leadership of Eng. Jacob Kakundi.

Late last year, 8 proxy companies were formed and awarded huge amounts in a bush clearing exercise that lasted for nine days in every village of Kitui having done nothing.

The youths were to be paid ksh350 daily where according to Wambua, they were only misused to benefit cartels and the whole exercise was only exploiting but not empowering them.

Most of youths have not been paid to date.

Wambua accused LIHUD ministry of fooling MCAS that the exercise was not contracted while they had proxy companies which were to be paid huge amounts, against the public finance management act.

In addition, Wambua firmly stated that for betterment of locals, KAKUNDI MUST GO.

Today, 15th oct,2019 the Wiper county legislator tabled Kakundi’s impeachment motion to the floor of the assembly.

In his motion, Wambua cited the Minister to be operating his office in a manner that does not promote public confidence in the integrity of the office.

Failure to implement county assembly’s resolutions thereby hindering their oversight roles

Failure to implement resolutions as passed by the house and failing to provide regular reports detailing status of implementation.

Ends.
