Machakos County Governor and Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader has affirmed support for the BBI Initiative.

“As a Party, we support an all inclusive government that will have a President, Deputy President, Prime Minister and two Deputy Prime Ministers vying and campaigning under one ticket.” Governor Mutua said.

“We want the BBI to factor in an economic plan that will ensure that our people, from all corners of the country have money in their pockets. We want development to trickle down to the villages regardless of which government is in power” he added.

Mutua urged Kenyans to evaluate the possibility of regional blocs, along the current economic blocs like our SEKEB(South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc-Machakos, Makueni and Kitui) that will co-ordinate programs cross cutting the different counties in one region. Regional entities are better placed to lobby for international investors, National government for more projects into the region, revive stalled programs and aggressively query issues crosscutting the counties in a region.

Mutua also urged leadership to always bear in mind that they have a duty to initiate development , create jobs and wealth and roll back poverty. To do this we have to place the interests of our people above our own personal and selfish ones.

“As leaders in Ukambani, we also have to interact with the rest of the country, negotiate and interrogate on which policies are best suited for our people as well as influence political, governance and developmental decisions. We have to lead our people to form the next government come 2022” Mutua stated.
