Of the late is a quest by a voter in Kitui county who’s pushing for the creation of Mwingi County.Hon. Augustine Kavindu, the immediate former Embakasi South contestant has written to the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati calling for the split of Mwingi from the expansive Kitui county that covers a land mass of over 30,000 sq. km.
In his letter, the former aspirant has described to the election body the reasons that he thinks must be considered for the delimitation of Mwingi County.In his letter, he has clarified to the body that Mwingi District was created at the same year with Makueni District which is now a county.
He added that the size and the population of the Mwingi District is sufficient for the creation of an independent county.
