Governor Ngilu calls for DP Ruto’s resignation

Governor Charity Ngilu has finally weighed in on the recent 40billion scandal that has been linked to the office of Deputy President William Ruto. The Kitui county boss has called for the DP’s immediate resignation.

In a statement released on Sunday February 16, governor Ngilu noted that Dr. Ruto aught to step aside from office pending investigations. This came as a response to DP Ruto’s tweet distancing him from the murky allegations far Ingrid office.

“The Deputy President should stop hoodwinking Kenyans through tweets and do the honorable thing, step aside and let investigations be conducted in an impartial environment,” read part of Ngilu’s statement.

This comes days after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations,DCI, arrested former Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa.  The former CS is alleged to have orchestrated a deal meant to defraud Polish company,Eco Advanced Technologies LLC an estimate of 40billion Kenya Shillings. This was supposed to be facilitation for the CS to aid the company secure mouth watering  tenders to supply the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) with high-grade surveillance equipment.

Governor Ngilu condemned in the strongest words the fact that such murky dealings could be discussed in the DP’s office.

“This happening in an office that should be beyond reproach is certainly putting the country, the presidency to shame, ridicule and has now gone beyond acceptable limits….It’s disheartening to learn that this trust has seemingly been broken by the deputy president who has clearly breached the security of the country by engaging in a fake arms deal..,” Ngilu lamented.

DP Ruto on the other hand had taken to twitter distancing himself from the scandal.  He categorically stated that Harambee Annex, the building hosting his offices, also houses several other government offices that could possibly be part and parcel of the dealings.
