Ex-Machakos County Senator Johnson Muthama adresses the media at his home in Gigiri on 22nd April 2013.

The former senator for Machakos county,Jonson Muthama has finally weighed in on the BBI debate.  The outspoken former legislator downplayed the purpose for the BBI initiative as envisaged by president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in Machakos County during the funeral of the late Mzee John Kang’aatu at his home in Mbuani village in Kola Ward,Mithama noted that the BBI has brought more divisions than unity in the country.

“Mambo ya kusema tunaunganisha Kenya, hiyo Si ukweli. Kabla ya BBI kuzaliwa,Jubilee ilikuwa chama kimoja. Kumezaliwa TangaTanga na Kieleweke.Sisi tulikuwa NASA, party leader wangu alikuwa ndani ya nasa na WIPER. Leo WIPER iko pekee yake.” Muthama said.

Muthama further said that instead of being a uniting tool for Kenyans, the BBI has broken any form of alliances that existed before its existence.  He noted that NASA is no longer in existence and Jubilee is a divided house.

The funeral was attended by many senior leaders including H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr., CAS Wavinya Ndeti, MP Victor Munyaka, Joyce Kamene, Daniel Maanzo and other members of parliament, Members of County Assembly and former legislators such as Johnstone Muthama and Gideon Ndambuki.
