In order to ease the fight against COVID-19, KICOTEC has dispatched 20,000 face masks to Makueni county. This, is according to Kitui county governor Charity Ngilu who announced the same via her official social media pages.

Here is what the Kitui county boss has to say,

“The Kitui County Textile Centre, KICOTEC, has today released 20,000 facemasks to the County Government of Makueni as part of the war against the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Makueni County is one of the several clients – private and public entities- that have ordered for face masks from the factory in the last two weeks.

The manufacturing facility, one of my, flagship projects has lately hit international news for its significant contribution towards the fight against the far reaching effects of COVID-19 in the country.

We are doing 30,000 pieces a day, working in 24 hour shifts. Our production is geared towards meeting the rising demand. KICOTEC is playing a major role in the fight against COVID-19, but all our efforts will be useless if Kenyans don’t adhere to Government Guidelines on Corona Virus.

Since its mask production line was unveiled, KICOTEC has received worldwide admiration and continues to impact the lives of the common mwananchi and the staff who are largely youthful.”
