KICOTEC sales rise as Kakamega acquires face masks

Kakamega County has today April 15, acquired 42,000 face masks from Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC).

The consignment was flagged off by Kitui Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau.

Dr. Wathe handed over the consignment to the Kakamega county’s Director of Health Ministry Mr. Richard Nyamai.

Kakamega  joins Makueni in the list of counties that have placed orders and procured masks from the manufacturing factory.

Makueni County procured twenty thousand face masks, from the garment factory earlier this week.

KICOTEC produces up to 30,000 masks in a day and is a key initiative towards curbing the spread of covid-19 in the country.

The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai’s  directive that police arrests persons without face masks in public places will consequently Impact on the market for KICOTEC in the country.

The factory has been making thousands of masks since approval by the Kenya Bureau of Standards
