Somali herders allegedly kill 29-year old Kitui lady

A fresh row is in the offing in Kitui East following the murder of a 29-year old lady. The unfortunate demise has been linked to Somali herders plying their trade on the same region.

The Kitui East police force has since launched investigations into the matter.  According to eye witnesses,  the suspects, alleged to be Somali herders  shot the deceased  at Katumbi village. Five residents of Malalani location in Mutito East sub-county werw also abducted by the suspect.

Speaking in confirmation of the sad news, Consanga Malasi, the Mutito East sub-county commander affirmed that investigations had already began. He also noted that the culprits behind the heinous act will soon meet the full wrath of the  law.

“There was a murder incident at Katumbi area of a woman aged 29 years. Those who killed her, are believed to be Somalis. They shot her with a gun and we have taken the body to Mutito sub-county hospital morgue,” Malasi said.

Confirmation of this sad incident throws into limbo the short lived peace that has recently been witnessed between Somali herders and Kitui residents.
