Kanyangi Ward Is Not A Damping Site, MCA tells Ngilu’s Administration


Kanyangi ward legislator, Hon Andrew Ndisya Lusa, one of Governor Charity Ngilu’s trusted political lieutenants has cried out to the office of the Kitui Rural Sub County Administrator for the installation of fake lights in his ward.He has further accused the office for by-passing the MCAs’ offices during the implementation of the county projects.

His attempt to reach the office of the county chief early this year proved to be a litmus test for the residents where the county pledged to install lighting system in Kanyangi market.

However, the MCA said that the contractor who was awarded the tender to install the Mulika Mwizi lights in Kanyangi town installed the fake lights that blew out after a short while.

The ward rep. for Kanyangi has tied the mess currently witnessed in Kanyangi lighting system to the be as a result of the Sub county sidelining his office.

The MCA added that there were no consultation with either the public or his office over the suitable location thereby pointing a finger of blame to the office of Kitui Rural Sub County Administrator.

He noted that earlier Gov. Ngilu had written a letter to all county administrators to closely liaise with the offices of MCA’s He has added that the lights must be inspected before re-installation to verify the quality. Kitui Rural sub county has four wards namely Yatta, Kanyangi, Mbitini, and Kisasi wards.
