Governor Ngilu ‘donates’ 2M worth of rent to salon operators


Hundreds of salon operators within Kitui town have a reason to smile after the county government of Kitui sent them a small token to cushion their rents.

In the plan, over 250 salonists have benefited from Sh 2M donation from Governor Charity Ngilu.

The token was sent to the salonists on 12th and 13th June, to assist the town based saloon operators during this Corona pandemic period.

In the plan, over 2M was used to cushion over 250 salonists in Kitui town, areas of Majengo, Kalundu and Kunda Kindu where each pocketed between KSH 3,000 -5,000 to assist them pay rent during Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the privy sources, this was done “chini ya maji” where all the beneficiaries were told not to share the information with anyone.

Whether a misplaced priority or not, the big question is when will this cushion land to Mama mboga, Boda boda guys, Kinyozi, Taxi operators, Juakali people, Mechanics, Shopkeepers Supermarkets attendants as well as jobless corner masters.
