The Kitui County ministry of Health and Sanitation today has received 14,300 Personal Protective Equipments as donation from Equity Group Foundation and Covid-19 Emergency response fund.
Speaking while receiving the PPEs on behalf of the Kitui governor, the County Executive Committee Member in charge of Tourism,Sports and Culture and also the acting CEC for Enviroment and Natural resources Patrick Koki Masau thanked the two groups for their immense support toward the fight against Covid-19 in the county.
He added that the equipment received will enhance service delivery among the residents in the county who may be infected by the virus.
Patrick Musau assured the donors that the county government under the leadership of Governor Charity Ngilu is committed to train and sensitize all health workers in the county on the basic Covid-19 guidelines and prevention infection protocols.
The CEC also added that the county government will procure more beds to achieve the recommended bed capacity of 300 as proposed by the national ministry of Health.
Speaking during the event Reuben Mbindu,the Executive Director of Equity Group Foundation said that the group’s main agenda is to transform lives of all front foot soldiers in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, by equipping them with all necessary gears towards this novel Coronavirus fight.
The event was held at Kitui County Referral hospital where senior medical officers from the ministry were present.
