Former Kitui governor, Dr. Julius Malombe has assured Kitui residents that he will be a candidate for the Kitui County gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming 2022 general elections.
He said he could not ignore continued calls from dejected residents across Kitui county demanding that he run as governor in the next elections.
Malombe is currently serving as chairman of the Kenya Water Towers Agency, he is aiming to recapture the seat he lost in 2017 to the current governor Charity Ngilu.
Speaking at Kyangwithwa West where he had attended the burial of the late Stephen Kithuku, Dr. Malombe said his decision for contesting in 2022 was motivated by the desire to continue with the good work of development he recorded in his first term as pioneer governor for Kitui County.
” I delivered 5292 projects in a period of 4 years and 4 months. Given another opportunity, i will take this county to the next level of development” he declared
