Kitui County Government has rolled out its Education bursary distribution program worth forty million in all the forty wards.
During the Kitui Township and Kyangwithya West Ward’s launch at the Ward administrator’s offices, Trade investments and Cooperatives County Executive Committee Member Madam Esther Kilonzi urged women to organize themselves in cooperatives in readiness of the soon to be launched Women empowerment fund.
The bursary will benefit a total of seven thousand and forty seven students in the county with each ward benefiting with one million each which was awarded meritoriously by the community during public participation.
This is a major push to the third pillar of the Government’s agenda of Education and Youth Development.
Township ward has one hundred and eighty one beneficiaries while Kyangwithya West ward has one hundred and sixty nine beneficiaries, each getting not less than five thousand Shillings.
