Mumoni’s perennial water shortage problem solved.


Mwingi North residents, who earlier had taken to the streets for lack of water in the area,now have a reason to smile as The World Bank is set to solve their perennial water shortage by constructing over a 4 million cubic liters capacity dam.

The Rehabilitation and Augmentation of a mega water dam at Kaliwa/Mutanda village in Mumoni ward, Kitui County. This project will benefit over 2500 residents who have a right to clean and safe water

Water Officer in charge Ms Agnetta Maithya led area residents in constituting a Project Management Committee for the project. “We will now have clean and safe water for domestic consumption” She said.

To ensure people access clean water from the dam the project includes,among others, a water treatment plant.
