Kitui Central MP Hon Makali Mulu has urged women and youth in his constituency to form groups so as to benefit from the various government empowerment funds.
Makali said the government is determined to empower the youth, women and the disabled in the society in a bid to reduce the rate of unemployment especially during corona pandemic.
The MP said he will support women and youth empowerment projects and create awareness on how they could access money from the Uwezo fund, youth enterprise development fund and women enterprise development fund hence improve their socio-economic well-being.
“It is vital to give women and youth sufficient opportunities as they contribute towards the general betterment of the society, Make good and intended use for this money” he said.
He was speaking on Friday at his office.
The MP graced the disbursement of Uwezo Fund cheques where sixty groups benefited from the kitty with 5.4 Million shillings.
He thanked the Uwezo Funds team for the good work in ensuring that the journey to empower women, youth and persons living with disabilities groups in Kitui Central Sub County.
The legislator applauded the groups that were able to refund the loan given earlier and urged the rest to repay to the revolving kitty so that other groups could benefit from the noble initiative.
