Monday afternoon Kitui CECM for Gender, Sports and Culture Hellenah Kitheka handed over Thokoa School ground in Kyome Thaana, Mwingi West after the fencing of the property by the County Ministry of Sports.
The facility will be used by schools in the zone to enhance sporting and recreational activities in the area.
In her speech, the CEC said the county will level the grounds, and ensure goal posts, dias and toilets will be done to support the zonal schools’ activities hosted in the venue.
She further said praised the community for supporting county government development efforts and asked them to embrace and utilise the projects fully.
In his remarks, Eng Paul Mateta who is in charge of the sub county works said the work done met the quality required for such projects.
He further said the government had initiated several projects that were either done or ongoing.
The area MCA Alex Mwangangi appreciated the County Government for the progressive developments being witnessed in the entire county citing that in every area, there are either ongoing or completed.
He urged all the county engineers to be on their toes in ensuring that quality work is delivered to the benefit of Kitui people.
