Kibwana’s Electric fence to end Elephant menace in Mtito Andei

‘The human wildlife conflict is a long-standing issue in Mtito Andei where people have lost their lives while others have been injured and property worth millions destroyed.

The county government of Makueni seems to have heard the loud cry of her people.

Kibwana led administration has set aside 75 million shillings in 2021/2022 financial year to install electric fence in Mtito Andei ward. The fence will run from Mtito Andei town to River Athi.

According to area MCA Francis Mwania Mulwa his people have suffered a lot under wildlife especially Elephant. “They have taken control over locals dams and destroyed farms” says MCA

“Our Government is committed to ensuring that both the people and the animals are protected,” added Mr Mulwa
