Over 7,000 students in Kitui West on Monday received a total of over Sh16 million in bursaries, area Member of Parliament, Hon Edith Nyenze has said.
“We have strived to offer bursaries to deserving students despite high number of applicants. We will continue to increase the amount to cater for more students to cushion their parents from increased fees load,” Ms Nyenze added.
Nyenze said a total of 7,452 learners benefited from Kitui West secondary school. These students were identified during public participation.
“I urge parents to now look for ways to clear school fees balance, teachers should allow students to go on with learning as parents look for fees” said MP Nyenze
According to MP colleges and universities students will receive their share of bursaries in next financial year
The disbursement comes barely days after the release of KCSE results.
