Kitui County CECM for Education ICT and Youth Development Mr Stephen Kyalo Watutu has called on Kitui residents to support Governor Charity Ngilu’s Development Agenda saying it plays an integral role in promoting skills, serving the electorate and creating wealth for the county.
The CECM was speaking on Sunday during a church fund drive at Ikanga, Kitui South Sub-county where he encouraged parents to enrol their children in Vocational training centres in the county to tap skills to better their lives.
“Kitui has a huge population of young people, and I want to say here today that we can harness that potential into useful skills and to build the youth,” he said.
Kitui County Director for Trade Cooperatives and Investments Mr Fidhelis Mwaniki urged residents to take advantage of the Kitui County Empowerment Fund saying it’s an initiative meant to support women, youth and people living with disability to better their lives by availing resources to them at low interests.
“The youth Empowerment Fund has already been approved by the Kitui County Assembly awaiting disbursement, I urge all the eligible groups to follow the required procedures to apply,” he said.
The CECM was also accompanied by County Member of Public Service Board Mr David Munyao, Kitui County Board member for Kitwasco madam Queen Masila and the Deputy County Administrator Kitui South Sub-county Mr Festus Mbuthi.
