The County CECM for Health and Sanitation Dr Winnie Kitetu and the Chief Officer Dr Allan Owino today conducted a supervisory visit to Kyatune health centre in Ikanga, Kitui South Sub county.
The visit among other initiatives was meant to ensure smooth running of services in the facility, the handing over of new health workers alongside accessing the facility to prepare it for the incoming Universal Health care to be launched by the county Government of Kitui.
In her remarks, Dr. Kitetu reiterated the County Government’s plan in ensuring that all Kitui hospitals meet the required standards to execute quality services to Kitui residents.
“I want to assure you today, that we are doing all the necessary efforts to ensure that every Kitui resident gets quality services in all our hospitals across Kitui” she said.
The County Government of Kitui, since Governor Charity Ngilu’s inauguration has been on the fore front in ensuring that every Kitui resident gets quality and affordable health care across all Kitui Hospitals.
Among the great milestones the County Government has achieved in the health sector include the employment of 645 health workers, the increment of health facilities from 187 to 300, the establishement of a pharmaceutical plant Kitui Pharma to manufacture non- pharmaceutical products, the opening of new theatres in Tseikuru and Ikutha and the establishment of a state of the art amenity ward in Kitui refferal hospital among others.
