Kitui South legislator on Saturday, June 12th disbursed over Ksh16 million worth of bursaries disbursed to needy learners in her constituency.
Over 15 Million will support over 3000 needy students in an estimated 600 secondary schools within and outside Kitui South constituency.
Ksh 650,000 has been allocated to support the education of special students in the 3 special education schools in Kitui South (Mutha, Kyatune and Ikanga) while Ksh 527,000 will support vocational education at the newly established Ikutha Technical Training Institute.
The Kitui South NG-CDF had released Ksh 5.5 million early this year to cushion parents from the biting shortage of resources occasioned by the covid 19 pandemic in the country.
Kaki urged parents to do their best in settling the school fees balance in order to facilitate learning in the schools. She also urged teachers to devise local arrangements with parents to enable them pay fees in installments.
