Kitui Senator give police 24-hour ultimatum to unearth Kanyonyoo killers

Kitui Senator has given Regional and National Security, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his team 24 hours to arrest killers of Kanyonyoo, B2 ranch residents or face action.

While expressing shock over the killing of Kitui rural residents, Kitui Senator, Hon Enoch Kiio Wambua warned that if no information was made available, he would compel National Government to initiate action on the security officers.

The government, the Cabinet Secretary together with his team should work round the clock to ensure that within 24 hours we have these criminals in custody – we want to know what happened and why the slow reaction otherwise we have our own powers and we will not hesitate to use it,” he said.

“We are really saddened and we express our condolences to the families of the victims – we are calling upon our security agents, right from the CID, we need answers to these killings – because if the perpetrators are not brought to book, our people will be exposed, ” pleaded Kiio.

Kiio also pointed an accusing finger at the police commandant for taking too long to respond to the killings and slow investigations.

Senator Kiio wants all police officers in the area transferred or sacked.
