There has been speculations following the sudden death of a passenger who was travelling from Mombasa to nairobi at Mtito Andei, Makueni County.
The incident reported at 0340hrs by the driver of Dreamline Bus Services reg No.KCG 170Y Scannia named Said Salim, occurred on the night of Tuesday, September 7.
“The bus left Mombasa for Nairobi at 19:00 hours. While on the way, it had a Stopover for curfew at their offices situated at National Oil Mtito Andei town about 200mts from the police station.” read the statement by Salim.
However, while preparing to resume their journey in the morning, they discovered one passenger lying on her seat limply.
The victim, Irene Nyambura, showed no signs of life, this prompting the bus management to inform the police.
” The Police arrived at the Scene where they inspected the deceased and confirmed her dead. The scene was handled under the supervision of public health officers and all COVID-19 protocols observed. ” read the statement.
All passengers travelling with the bus were isolated within the petrol station and both the Bus and body escorted to Kibwezi Sub county Hospital and fumigated.
The body was then moved to the Makindu Hospital Mortuary awaiting Autopsy.
The travelling passengers were temporarily held at the Bus offices at Mtito awaiting fumigation process before proceeding g with their journey.
