Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has reaffirmed her stance on the need to have Ukambani region work with other regions ahead of the 2022 polls.

The NARC Party leader appealed to the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to work with other leaders to guarantee the region’s stake in the next government.
“If we will not be part of the national government that distributes a huge share of resources – we stand to lose. We must ensure we work with other like-minded leaders to get the numbers necessary for a win”. She said.
The Governor further noted that working with other regions to form government next year will benefit Ukambani and chat a better future for the community beyond next year’s elections.
In her address at Stoni Athi in Machakos to leaders drawn from Ukambani where then NASA principals attended, Ngilu warned that if they went to the polls divided, they risked losing to the deputy president William Ruto.
“If any of you thinks they can deliver alone; it is a lie. You must remain together until we see a white smoke,” Ngilu cautioned.
In today’s meeting, the governor urged community leaders to encourage residents to embrace the impending NHIF registration in the new partnership deal set by her administration.
