The Amani National Congress Party (ANC) has unveiled its new Secretary General to fill the position that was left vacant since August 2020 when Barrack Muluka resigned as the Secretary General of the Party.
Lawyer Simon Kamau Gikuru has been named the new Secretary General in a ceremony presided over by the party leader Hon Musalia Mudavadi at the Amani National Congress Party Headquarters in Lavington Nairobi.
Mudavadi says ANC is the party of choice and it is sending a signal that it is going to work with the young people closely by inviting the youth on the negotiating table during policy decision making.
“ANC Party has unveiled the youngest Secretary General for a national political party in the country. We want to walk with the youth and ANC is going to become a party of the young people in Kenya. We are sending a strong signal that we are ready and want to incorporate the youth at all levels of leadership and government moving forward.” Said Mudavadi
Mudavadi added that the largest constituent of Kenya’s demographic consists of the youth and as ANC Party they will ensure in addressing the challenges facing Kenyans, the youth will be given a key consideration adding that the women and people living with disabilities will also form a great part of ANC policy conversations moving forward.
“We have been undertaking reorganization in the party. We have a new constitution, we have undertaken grass root elections in our branches countrywide, and moving forward the naming of the Secretary General gives us an upper hand. We want to state that ANC is a national party that represents the face of Kenya.” Said Mudavadi
The ANC boss also emphasized the need for Kenyans to remain peaceful and focused as moving forward there is hope. He called on Kenyans to rally together and walk with him in liberating this country.
Mudavadi said an economic revolution is needed in Kenya citing the heavy public debt and unscrupulous expenditure in the public sector without strengthening the private sector has also affected the growth of the economy.
“As ANC we are determined to reach all parts of our great nation with a message of peace and economy recovery. You have seen our competitors jumping on our economic recovery, revival and growth agenda without telling Kenyans where they will get solutions for the challenges facing this country. I have spoken about renegotiating and restructuring public debt, how we intend to lower tax and cut on projects that can wait as we try to fix the areas which affect mwananchi directly.” Added Mudavadi
Mudavadi has insisted on the need for Kenyans to elect leaders with integrity by interrogating the leaders they need to put in office before voting them in.
He has also called on those who haven’t registered as voters to take the advantage of the upcoming mass voter registration and come out in large numbers and register for their vote will count come 2017.
